BELGRADE – The European Commission’s recommendation to member countries to start accession talks with Serbia is a good opportunity for Serbia and a new starting position in which the country can show that its citizens deserve to have stability and security, Serbian parliament Speaker Nebojsa Stefanovic said Monday.
Stefanovic told Tanjug the news is “very good and optimistic, because it gives the country a chance to do something good for its citizens.”
Stefanovic said it is a chance for young people in Serbia, who have until now seen their future abroad, to start looking for opportunities in their own country, as well as a chance to create a society in which the people will live much better. “We must be a society dedicated to the rule of law, a society in which people can live decently off their salaries, a society in which people can get a normal education and health care,” said Stefanovic.
