Political analyst, Nexhmedin Spahiu, expressed satisfaction with the flow of election process in Kosovo, however he expressed suspicion when it comes to results of the elections.

These elections were not carried out in the best possible manner, elections process went on smoothly until the elections day, but election results are suspicious. At last elections and elections before the last ones, there were manipulations, but there were not that many invalid ballots, what proves that there were many manipulations on these elections,” said Spahiu to RTK2.

Spahiu quotes as suspicious fact that at every single polling station in Mitrovica, candidates have scored the same percentage of votes. He claims that it would be quite normal situation that member of the Serbian community wins the post of the mayor in Northern Mitrovica since, according to him, situation wouldn’t be normal if the post would be occupied by an Albanian, in the part of the town with majority Serbian population.

Spahiu pointed out that there were irregularities when it comes to votes scored by Adrijana Hodzic, which won only 20 percent of votes, despite the support of the Albanian and other communities.

“Results of Adrijana Hodzic are suspicious, she scored only 20% of votes in comparison with the PDK candidate who won 80%, what is simply impossible knowing for the fact that Adrijana received support of all Albanian parties and parties of other communities,” said Spahiu . He also  believes that there won’t be incidents on repeated elections and voiced hope that there won’t be irregularities as well.

“Expectations are that Serbs will turn out on elections. I don’t believe in outbreak of unrests.  When elections are nor fair, incidents occur, what was the case last time, however I hope that same situation won’t occur at repeated elections,” said Spahiu.
