Vulin forbidden to visit Gjakovica (RTS, BETA)

Kosovo police does not allow Minister Alexander Vulin to spend Christmas Eve and Christmas in Djakovica. Vulin was allowed to visit Kosovska Mitrovica, Pec, Gracanica, but not Djakovica.

Kosovo police refused a request of the Minister Alexander Vulin to visit Djakovica, reports RTS.

It was announced that Vulin in Djakovica will visit the monastery of the Dormition of the Mother of God, and this evening will attend the burning of the Yule log, and then an evening service.

It will, after 15 years, be the first burning of the Yule log in the monastery. In Gjakovica used to be around 12,000 Serbs, and today the only remaining are four Serbian nuns.

The announcement of the Kosovo police stated that the Minister Vulin is allowed to visit Kosovska Mitrovica, Pec, Gracanica, but not Djakovica.

The President of the Municipality of Gjakovica Mimoza Kusari Lila has previously stated that she received assurances from the Kosovo government that Vulin will not be allowed to visit Djakovica.

Kusari Lila this morning was in front of the Orthodox Church in Djakovica, where a strong force of local police was stationed and Special Forces, reports Beta.
