Belgrade media report, that today, mayors and assembly members will take over the duties, during the solemn meetings that will be held in four municipalities in the north of Kosovo. Zubin Potok mayor, Stevan Vulovic, stated yesterday that the meeting in Leposavic will be held at 08:00 hours, in Zubin Potok at 10:00, Zveçan at 12:00 and Mitrovica at 14:00 hours.

He added that no invitations were sent to assembly members, but they informed about the meeting, since, he said, today’s meetings will only be the continuance  of the delayed meetings from December of the last year.

There is no information on what symbols will be used at these meetings. It was announced that the meeting in northern Mitrovica will be held without any symbols.

Belgrade officials earlier did not exclude the possibility of using the symbols of Serbian state, since, according to them, during the meetings at Pristina Municipality, a foreign flag, that of Albania, is being used.

Yesterday, Kosovo delegation in Brussels issued a press release which informed that “EU has informed to be in continuous contact with the mayors of these municipalities and a meeting with the delegation of these municipalities, lead by Zveçan mayor, was held yesterday afternoon. EU has communicated to them the clear position that the new municipal bodies should respect Kosovo laws during their inauguration and constitution.”
