Kosovo Parliament Speaker Jakup Krasniqi criticized the government committee in charge for the verification of former combatants of the Kosovo Liberation Army for failing to carry out its duties. Krasniqi said there would be no problems with the war categories if the committee had completed its work accordingly.
“You know that there is a government committee in charge of preparing the final list of KLA veterans and war invalids. The committee failed to do its job and I am confident that if it had worked properly we wouldn’t be facing this problem now,” Krasniqi added.
Several days ago, former KLA members protested in front of the government building in Pristina over the failure to adopt the law on war categories.
