British Ambassador, Ian Cliff, said in Gracanica that it is very important to draft a good and practical statute for the Association of Serb Municipalities. But he also said that “there is no rush in drafting this document because Kosovo, and perhaps Serbia too, are close to parliamentary elections”.

Cliff said he doesn’t know when the Association of Serb Municipalities will be established and, according to him, this is something that should be discussed in Brussels as the establishment time depends on the statute.

After a meeting with Gracanica mayor, Branimir Stojanovic, Cliff said it is the first time he was visiting the municipality following local elections in Kosovo, RTK reported.

He stressed that the Government of Great Britain is engaged in securing Serbs remain in Kosovo.

“We support the role of the Serb community and other communities here and we will see how we can help and cooperate with Gracanica municipality”, Cliff said.
