A member of the Kosovo Central Election Commission Nenad Rikalo said today that the deadline for candidates for mayor of Mitrovica North expires on Wednesday 29 January and that so far no one submitted application for that position.
Rikalo told Tanjug that the deadline for applications runs from 21 January, that candidates must gather 100 signatures of support and pay € 200 deposit.
Kosovo President Atifete Jahjaga has announced the elections for mayor of North Mitrovica for 23 February and a decision was made on the basis of the Law on Local Elections, the Law on Local Self-Government and based on the report of the Ministry of Administration and Local Self-Government.
