The paper writes today that the Alliance for Future of Kosovo (AAK) missed last year the opportunity to embrace the role of the opposition and contribute to the forming of a powerful bloc that would be able to impose right decisions. However, deceived by a rumoured pact between political parties, AAK leader preferred to play with the quicker option that he hoped would bring him to power. When all the calculations were done, it became evident that the result would be negative.

The paper says that after losing leadership in big municipalities, AAK paid a great price for its soft position towards the Kosovo Government and cooperation in talks with Serbia.

As a result, its initiative to bring to vote a motion of confidence against the Government of Kosovo failed also for the fact that the leaders of the two biggest parties, PDK and LDK, agreed to go to early parliamentary elections. This put AAK out of the game while its motion remained a bitter story which could however be of use to draw a lesson from. “In the battle for power, our parties don’t choose means, or principles, but simply employ all the available machinery,” writes the paper.
