First Deputy Prime Minister of Serbian Government Aleksandar Vucic stated on Sunday that Serbia’s parliamentary elections scheduled for 16 March will also be held in Kosovo. He added that these elections will be held in line with the agreements reached in Brussels and the OSCE representatives.

On the other hand, Kosovo Deputy Prime Minister Hajredin Kuçi reiterated that Serbia’s elections will not be held in Kosovo, but participation in elections will provided to all Serb citizens with Serbian citizenship.

We will have elections in Kosovo, as well. This was stated to media by the First Deputy Prime Minister of Serbian Government Aleksandar Vucic. He said that these elections will be held in line with the Agreement achieved in Brussels, and the ones with the OSCE representatives.

“Elections will be held according to the agreement that we have the OSCE and in line with the Agreement that we’ve reached in Brussels. I do not believe that we will have any problems in this regard,” Vucic said.

Kosovo Government, on the other hand, reiterated that it will not allow organization of Serbia’s parliamentary elections in Kosovo.

Kosovo Deputy Prime Minister Hajredin Kuçi told RTK1 that: “Kosovo government will respect two principles: the one that Serbia cannot organize elections in Kosovo and the second is that Serb citizens with Serbian citizenship will be provided the opportunity to take part in these elections, for which, the OSCE will play a technical role.”

In the meantime, Serbian minister without portfolio in charge of Kosovo Aleksandar Vulin said that Kosovo is trying to intimidate Serbs not to take part in elections, Klan Kosova reported.

Tahiri: Vucic should read Brussels Agreement correctly

(Most monitored broadcasters, RTK2&Klan Kosova)

Kosovo Deputy Prime Minister Edita Tahiri called on Serbian Deputy Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic to read the 19 April Agreement achieved in Brussels correctly. She said that current situation has essential differences from the one of 2012.

“There cannot and will not be Serbian elections in Kosovo which are organized by Serbia, because a state cannot organize elections in another country. Furthermore, the Brussels Agreement has given an end to any interference of Serbia in Kosovo’s internal issues,” Tahiri told Kosovapress.

Tahiri said that there will only be a limited number of collection points, where there will be no voting commission, as they were in 2012, nor structures, no ballot counting in Kosovo, but they will rather be collected and transported to Serbia with the OSCE’s assistance.

The other Deputy Prime Minister of Kosovo Slobodan Petrovic reminded that the right to elections is also provided with the Kosovo Constitution.

“I believe that these elections will be in the spirit of Brussels Agreement and that modalities between the two governments will be found that will allow each citizen with the right to vote to use it. Let me say once again, this is in the (Kosovo) Constitution,” Petrovic said, RTK2 reported.

President Jahjaga’s mandate ends at the end of 2016

(RTK1)

It seems that political parties have taken very seriously the advices of the US Ambassador in Kosovo Tracey Ann Jacobson that the issue of the President should not become part of political calculations for the general elections.

Representatives of PDK, LDK and AAK told RTK1 that they will not make any trouble to President Jahjaga to complete her mandate.

However, political experts say that taking into the political system in the country, the issue of the President might become part of discussions after the end of elections.
