Kosovo Prime Minister Hashim Thaci believes the president of Kosovo should be elected directly by the people. In an interview for Albaniascreen, Thaci said if members of parliament and the prime minister are elected by the people, there is no reason why the election of president should be any different.
“Election reforms are continuing. I believe we will also invite the Venice Commission to assist us in full election reforms; this would enable the direct election of the president, and also to have more than one election zone in Kosovo and other technical and professional aspects,” Thaci was quoted as saying.
