Vice-Chair of the European Parliament for Southeastern Europe, Jelko Kacin, stated that Kosovo and Crimea cannot be compared, while actions of Vladimir Putin could be compared to Slobodan Milosevic’s policy during the bloody destruction of former Yugoslavia.
He assessed that Russia’s ambitions are much bigger than annexation of Crimea. “Prior to creating the state, Milosevic created Republika Srpska and Serbian Republic of Kraina, in order to reach his invention, all Serbs in one state, respectively all Serbs in a greater Serbia. Based on this model, Putin is trying to increase Russian territory,” said Kacin for Montenegrin portal, Analitika.
