Pristina Mayor Shpend Ahmeti said that he had received the request of the Association of Families of victims in Kosovo since 1998 to 2000, the “Kosmet victims”, to install mobile art titled “Missing” in Pristina.

This installation was set on 17 March in the Serbian enclave of Gracanica.

Ahmeti, mayor of Pristina from the “Self-Determination”, said he will talk with the police on security aspects and pointed out that in principle municipality of Pristina cannot prohibit public gatherings of its kind.

“This request will be handled through the regular procedure. During the first three months since I’m in this position, we received more than 200,000 requests for public service. It means that the request entered into the normal procedure and I sent it to the director of public services for granting permission,” said Ahmeti.

According to him, the question of the artistic installation is somewhat politically sensitive. He, however, said that, there should not be a problem with the project, but that, if any, he will inform the public about it.

The mobile art installation “Missing”, which indicates the lack of resolution of the problem of missing by Goran Stojcetovic, refugee from Urosevac/Ferizaj, was set by the Association “Kosmet victims” and the Office for Kosovo and Metohija on 17 March in the courtyard of the Cultural Centre in Gracanica.
