Workers employed in Serb majority Kosovo municipalities today will organize a peaceful protest against a set of laws by the Government of Kosovo that regulate the issue of elections.
The peaceful protests, the second in the past week, will be held in Serbian municipalities from 9:00 to 9:30 am, according to the Information Service of Gracanica.
Workers will express their dissatisfaction with the Kosovo Government’s attempts to abolish the reserved seats in parliament held for Serbian and other minority communities.
They are asking the government in Pristina to abandon the law, saying that only adults with Kosovo documents will have the right to vote.
President of the Municipal Assembly of Gracanica Vladeta Kostic said earlier that it would mean an administrative emigration of Serbs from Kosovo.
This set of laws is already sent to parliament.
