Kosovo President Atifete Jahjaga is attending the World Economic Forum for Latin America and has met Costa Rica President Laura Chinchilla, Panama President Ricardo Martinelli and Guatemala President Perez Molina. In her meeting with President Molina, Jahjaga said Kosovo is a sovereign, independent and internationally-recognized territory, with clear goals of becoming a member state of the European Union, NATO and the United Nations. Jahjaga also said that recognition from Guatemala would help Kosovo and the Balkans. President Molina said his country is closely following developments in Kosovo and is considering recognizing the young territory.
