Because of the difficult financial situation in the health centre in Gracanica, employees are no longer able to treat patients, said the director of the institution.

Director of the institution Aleksa Andrejevic convened a press conference on the occasion of the difficult financial situation, at which he informed the public about the problems that prevent the staff of this facility to treat patients.

“The situation is not difficult, but it is alarming. We are not in a position to provide even the most basic medical services to our patients,” said Andrejevic.

And while the director claims that doctors, if necessary, with their means will help patients, those being treated said that they are on their own.

From the last week ambulance of this centre cannot help because, in addition to the necessary medical supplies for work, they are and without fuel.

“Ambulance is in quite difficult situation because we are not able to provide a true and first aid for all patients. For three months we do not have any money in the account for material costs,” said Nebojsa Stojiljkovic, chief paramedic.

Stojiljkovic adds that as the union president of the Health Centre Gracanica he sent letters to institutions of Serbia and Kosovo. However, the head of the Kosovo district Vladeta Kostic says it is frivolous that the union engages in such a big problem.

“Unfortunately the director did not inform me about the problem, but through the union. I think it is ridiculous that such a big problem is being solved through the union. Regardless of all irregularities in the communication between the director of health institutions and me, I have informed the Ministry of Health on this issue,” said Kostic.
