Visa liberalization is more a political decision than as fulfilling of criteria’s, evaluated Minister of European Integrations, Vlora Citaku. Citaku augmented this with the decisions of European Commission for visa removal for few countries of Asia and Latin America. Kosovo has fulfilled criteria for visa liberalization, but European Commission is not sending commissions for their evaluation, said Citaku.

“This year, European Commission has recommended removal of visas for United Arab Emirates, Columbia, Peru, countries of Caricom again based on political decisions, not in the guide of fulfillment of technical criteria in different fields that were dictated to as. Is this fair? No it isn’t fair,” said Citaku.

However, Citaku said that Kosovo has fulfilled placed criteria’s established by European Commission for visa liberalization. And this help anyhow in the development of Kosovo, but Citaku expressed her disappointment in connection with delays of European Commission in evaluating criteria for Kosovo

“I want to express my disappointment with the slow speed with which European Commission is responding to the enthusiasm, commitment and work of all Kosovo institutions, without exception, in fulfilling of criteria’s. The bad news is that European Commission did not yet send commissions for evaluation in fulfilling of criteria’s,” stated, Citaku.

In the lecture to the students of UBT University in Pristina „Road towards Europe“ Citaku said that Kosovo is not ready to become member of EU, but certainly it is ready to sign the Stabilization Association Agreement SAA.
