BELGRADE- The Serbian government’s Office for Kosovo-Metohija said on Wednesday that all crimes must be solved and punished, expressing hope that the role of the self-styled “Kosovo Liberation Army” in the province will be revealed in an international court as “no other court has had the will or the courage to find the truth.”

Following a meeting of the Albanian government with representatives of the interim institutions in Pristina, the Office said that the conflicts in Kosovo-Metohija broke out after decades of departures of Serbs who were forced to move out of the province and systematic killings of military and police personnel, as well as many ethnic Albanians, Gorani, Roma, Bosniaks and all others who did not want to attack Serbia, its authorities and citizens.

Choosing the town of Kukes as the location for the meeting was more than in bad taste, because to every Serb it symbolises the “Yellow House”, the crimes against civilians and the organ trafficking referred to in the report by the former Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe rapporteur Dick Marty, which was adopted by the Council of Europe Committee on Human Rights in late 2010, the Office said in a statement.

There is a name and a victim associated with every crime, and the Office for Kosovo-Metohija is an advocate of solving and punishing every crime, regardless of the ethnicities of the victims and the murderers, the statement said.

The international community has still not made it possible for expelled Serbs to return to the province, which is an obligation that must never be forgotten or remain unfulfilled, the statement said.
