The front page editorial of this daily says that distancing of patriotic rhetoric during the meeting of Kosovo and Albanian Governments in Kukës, is a good sign. We are tired of big words which induce false enthusiasm, while the reality shows lack of cooperation or vision. Albania and Kosovo continue to have customs in between as with any other neighboring country, furthermore, there are even cases of tensions in trade relations, due to different tax fees.

The recently elected Prime Minister of Albania, Edi Rama, has promised a new approach towards Kosovo, and Kosovo leaders have expressed readiness for cooperation as well, however, except for some agreements, press conferences and routine meetings of the respective cabinets, there are no significant results on what the leaders of the two countries prefer to call “strategic partnership.”

Instead of the meetings twice a year, this partnership should be measurable by concrete results. Being part of the same nation, harmonization of many important issues in both sides of the formal border would have been a benefit not only for Albanians, but for the minorities in Albania and Kosovo as well, concludes this daily.
