The letter that President sent to the EU High Representative, Catherine Ashton, except for Tribunal and extension of EULEX mandate it has also requested to prolong the mandate for three international judges of Constitutional Court, whose mandate expires on 31 August this year.

Constitutional court didn’t give a response what kind of mandate has been requested from the President for the three of its international members this year. This answer is neither given from Presidents office. While the Government, according to Deputy Prime Minister, Hajredin Kuçi said that he does not know what the President wrote in her letter in connection with this issue, while the submitted draft from EU High Representative in Kosovo, Samuel Zbogar on 7 April was not coming from the Government. All of this is called as unconstitutional from Kosovo Assembly Speaker Jakup Krasniqi.

Before the Assembly votes about the content of the letter that President sent to the European Union, the Kosovo Assembly Speaker, Jakup Krasniqi is evaluating this as unconstitutional. However, the Speaker said that everything written in that letter will be voted from Kosovo Assembly. “About all that content it will be voted in Kosovo Assembly even that Constitution indicates otherwise,” said Krasniqi for Radio Kosova.

About this letter Spokesperson of President Jahjaga, Arber Vllahiu, said that “this is a discussed document and agreed by Kosovo Government.”

Vllahiu did not confirmed how many years mandate it was requested for Constitutional international judges as for the international members of Kosovo Privatization Agency and Property Agency.

But, Deputy Prime Minister Hajredin Kuçi said that he does not know exactly what has been signed by the President, while, according to him, the draft sent (to heads of political party leaders) from EU High Representative Samuel Zbogar was not coming from the Government.

„On 7 April EU High Representative in Kosovo, Samuel Zbogar sent a draft to the leaders and heads of political parties. This draft sent from Zbogar was not ours,” said Kuçi.

However, it remains to be clarified for how long it will be extended the mandate, which according to the constitution it will expire in June to the members of Kosovo Privatization Agency, while in August it expires the mandate of constitutional judges.
