The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Enver Hoxhaj, stated on Thursday that he is being maximally engaged to change the approach of the international missions in Kosovo, towards the status of Kosovo.

Our approach towards the OSCE and many organizations which act in Kosovo based on Resolution 1244, and which allegedly are neutral towards the status of Kosovo, is to make them move forward towards a positive position and acceptance of the new reality, recognition of Kosovo as a state,” said Hoxhaj during the regular session of the Assembly of Kosovo.

Hoxhaj said that respective department of the Foreign Ministry which deals with international missions, has immediately requested clarification from the OSCE mission in Kosovo for presenting Mitrovica in one of its reports as part of Serbia. According to Hoxhaj, officials of this mission explained that this was a technical mistake. He added that he would also raise this issue in the next meeting with the OSCE Ambassador in Kosovo, Jean Claude Schlumberger. Hoxhaj also spoke about the efforts of Serbia and Russia to use the OSCE mission in Kosovo, for their intentions, which undoubtedly are not in favor of Kosovo state. He said that he has raised this issue at every meeting with OSCE representatives as well as the international partners. “I want to assure you that I am very serious, not only when OSCE is concerned, but UNMIK as well. Often such missions intend to mine Kosovo’s statehood and I have raised this issue at each meeting with our partners,” said Hoxhaj
