Another 16 Serbs, who committed crimes in last three years, will have to report to EULEX facilities in South Mitrovica, learned Belgrade-based Politika.

“Persons who are on the EULEX list, suspects and witnesses, will be summoned to report to EU mission,” said Politika’s source and stressed that it is not about crimes committed during conflict in 1999, for which two Serbs are already detained in Kosovoska Mitroica as suspects.

Unofficially, according to the paper, persons from EULEX list will be summoned in relation with the murder of Kosovo police officer, member of ROSU Enver Zumberi, on 25 July 2011, in Zubin Potok Municipality in vicinity of the integrated boundary crossing Brnjak, and for setting barricades in northern Kosovo and Metohija.

Leaders in northern Kosovo appear not to be acquainted with paper’s finding. Vucina Jankovic Mayor of Zubin Potok Municipality, said that he is not aware of the list of suspected Serbs. “I learned about it from you,” said Jankovic. He repeated the stance of mayors from four northern municipalities, four-member steering team, and the head of Kosovska Mitrovica district that EULEX is unwelcomed on the territory of northern Kosovo following the arrest of Radovan Radic from Zubin Potok, and newest ‘sort of’ kidnapping of Nebojsa Vujacic from northern Kosovska Mitrovica.

“EULEX is not contributing to mitigation of tensions and anxiety amongst the people since everyone fears that it could be the one that could be arrested by EULEX. We are supporting the rule of law, however we don’t see any other way to bring attention of EULEX to their uncivilized behavior, unless, we as the leadership of four municipalities, stop cooperating with them. We agreed not to attend future regular meetings, with representatives of this mission, which used to be a practice all this years,” said Jankovic to Politika, and added that if EULEX continues with such actions they won’t be able prevent ‘peoples gathering’.

On paper’s question whether the expression ‘unwelcome’ in northern Kosovo refers to situation where movement of EULEX is banned on the territory of four municipalities, as was the case earlier when people used to prevent movement of jeeps throughout the northern roads, Jankovic replied:

“We didn’t define it in that way, however the expression ‘unwelcome’ means that representatives of the EU mission have interpreted correctly our message.”

Last arrest of Vujacic, who was arrested by EULEX in the morning hours at 06:00 without prior notification of the representatives of local self-government and Kosovo police in charge for the north, has raised anxiety amongst people in the north.

Soon after the arrest leadership of four municipalities in the north labeled it as ‘kidnapping’ what was later denied by EULEX which also said that they acknowledge the statements but that they don’t share their position that detention of the suspect, carried out upon the requested of the prosecutor, can be an ‘abduction’.
