The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi, has requested from the deputies of the Parliament of Kosovo to vote establishment of Kosovo’s Armed Forces (KAF.)

Thaçi made this request today during the meeting of the Government, saying that any further delay of the Assembly of Kosovo to put the issue in the agenda is unjustifiable.

“This voting will happen in the following days. If we lose this historical chance to establish the Armed Forces of Kosovo, I will send an alarm to the citizens of Kosovo, to Kosovo’s political specter. Kosovo would lose the chance for additional several years,” stressed Thaçi.

He added that Kosovo has the full support of the United States of America, NATO and EU, as well as complete understanding of the United Nations, the Security Council, to move forward.

The Government decided during today’s meeting to transfer funds from the Ministry of Finance to the Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare, proposed earlier by the Government, in order to compensate political prisoners. The Government also endorsed the Draft-Law for ratification of the International agreement between Kosovo and the European Union on the mission of the rule of law, EULEX.
