President of Serbia Tomislav Nikolic said that Constitution with the preamble on Kosovo is a holly letter for him and that he will not violate it as long as it is valid.

“It is a holly letter for us, as long as it is valid, but we will have another holly letter, a new constitution which will be valid. I am completely bound with the preamble, and not only preamble, there are another two articles of the Constitution. Don’t expect from me to violate the Constitution, particularly not the part referring to Kosovo,” said Nikolic at the press conference after he entrusted the mandate for creation of the new government of Serbia to the President of the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) Aleksandar Vucic.

“I was sworn in on the Constitution of Serbia and I’ll protect it as long as I occupy this post. Constitution is not a sugar-water for me and I wouldn’t like it to be so for any citizen,” said Nikolic and stressed that as long as citizens of Serbia don’t reward themselves with the new constitution, in line with the prescribed procedure, that document remains a holly letter for him.
