The front page editorial of this daily writes that Kosovo society is plagued by a deep disappointment due to the unstoppable institutional degradation, alarming corruption, injustice and weak economy. Transformation of Kosovo Security Force into Kosovo Armed Forces is good news for the fragile political climate in Kosovo.
“Conditioning of the minorities to approve this transformation with their reserved seats at the Assembly should not be accepted, because it could create a negative precedent. Minorities in Kosovo have a higher representation than any other country in Europe. Their rights are guaranteed, therefore they should not abuse with their capability to block. Lawmakers in Kosovo, including minorities, should not become prey of unnecessary polemics. Kosovo’s Armed Forces will defend sovereignty, territorial integrity, population, property and interests of Kosovo and they will also contribute on keeping regional and global stability. There is no need to politicize this issue. The Army does not belong to any party, leader or to the government alone. It does not belong to majority but to all citizens of Kosovo. It contains men and women of this country and representatives of all communities,” concludes this daily.
