“No political force at the Assembly of Kosovo has the right to condition establishment of Kosovo Armed Forces” stated the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi. During the government meeting today, he appealed on all deputies of the Assembly of Kosovo to vote the establishment of KAF next Monday.

“The Army of KOSovo is beyond political interests/ Voting KAF does not mean voting for this or that individual, it does not mean voting for the government of Kosovo, but for the state of Kosovo,” he said.

He reiterated that if the voting for KAF does not place within these days, consequences for the Army of Kosovo would be catastrophic. “Establishment of KAF is a necessity, it is a historic chance for the state of Kosovo. I want to hope that the entire political specter of Kosovo will have the courage to overcome any electoral party interest of the day and to vote in a consensual manner establishment of the Army of Kosovo. There might be political voices who say, let us see during the next mandate, but I am telling you with full responsibility and the highest seriousness in front of the citizens, that this voting does not happen during the next days at the Assembly, Kosovo risks establishment of KAF for years, therefore this historical chance should not be lost for any narrow political interest,” said Thaçi.
