The Serbian Ministry of Interior said on Wednesday that representatives of the Serbian Armed Forces (SAF) and the Serbian Gendarmerie have conducted a joint reconnaissance operation with Kfor representatives in line with the Kumanovo Agreement.

Responding to media reports that the Gendarmerie entered the territory of Kosovo-Metohija on Tuesday, the ministry said that a “pre-planned and pre-arranged joint reconnaissance activity was conducted on April 29 by commissions of the SAF General Staff and the Kfor command.”

The activity was conducted “with active involvement of representatives of the Armed Forces and the Gendarmerie, in line with the Kumanovo Agreement,” the ministry’s statement said.

The Pristina-based Lajm daily reported that the Serbian Gendarmerie entered the territory of Kosovo-Metohija near the Karacevo village and that locals alerted Kfor.

SAF and Gendarmerie troops are stationed in the Ground Safety Zone along the administrative line with Kosovo-Metohija.
