Municipality of Pristina is seeking to increase its transparency and to this end began cooperation with United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) to enable citizens’ access to municipality through different applications.

Fifteen teams made of youth had the possibility of preparing their draft plans during three days and will present them at the Municipality in front of a judging panel. The best proposal will be implemented in cooperation with the project staff and the Municipality of Pristina.

Pristina Mayor, Shpend Ahmeti, said they are interested to see whether such youth projects can be implemented successfully.

“We will see whether it is possible through the creativity of Pristina and Kosovo youth to develop an application that would make it easier for citizens to access information be it regarding budgetary spending or employment. This is all aimed at increasing transparency”, said Ahmeti.

The ‘Digital Pristina’ project is being supported by UNDP and the Innovation Centre of Kosovo.
