In three months, 32 families repatriated (Koha Ditore)

32 families from the Albanian, Serb and Roma communities have been repatriated in the Municipality of Gjilan/Gnjilane in the first three months of 2014. Of these 32 families, 21 are from Albanian community, 8 from Serb and 3 from Roma community. Officials from the municipality they are working on return of displaced persons who are currently living in difficult conditions. “We have accommodated seven Serb families who until recently lived in the premises of fridge factory in Shillovvo and their housing rents will now be covered by the Municipality and the Ministry of Returns for the next six months”, said Ruzhdi Rashiti from the office for communities and returns in Gjilan/Gnjilane. With regards to sustainable returns, Rashiti said that together with UNHCR and several other international organisations they are working on preparing a register of returns for the members of the Roma community.
