Tomislav Nikolic: EU membership – joint goal of Serbia and Albania (Tanjug)

The President of Serbia Tomislav Nikolic conferred in Dubrovnik, where annual meeting of the heads of states of South-East Europe (SEE) is taking place, with the President of Albania Bujar Nishani and congratulated him on receiving the candidate status for the EU membership.

Nikolic, carried the cabinet of the Serbian President, highlighted that Serbia pledges for cooperation with all neighboring states and at the same time he congratulated the President of Albania on receiving the candidate status for the EU membership and added that EU membership is a joint goal of two states which will enhance cooperation.
President of Albania expressed deep regret with regards to catastrophic floods which stroke Serbia and stressed that Albania will, in line with its abilities, take part in the donors conference.

The two presidents agreed that volume of commercial exchange between Serbia and Albania is increasing, however bilateral cooperation should intensify through political, economic and other relations aimed at the joint goal of prosperity of two neighboring states.
