Vienna – Minister of Foreign Affairs of Serbia Ivica Dacic during a special session of the OSCE Permanent Council, held yesterday in Vienna, presented priorities of the forthcoming Serbian 2015th OSCE presidency.
He assessed that the Ukraine crisis opened up certain key issues of the European security, and that it is necessary to make all efforts to solve it and therefore strengthen relations throughout the entire area of OSCE. Dacic said that presence of international forces in Ukraine at this moment is of paramount importance, and added that Serbia offers its full support to the work of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission and extension of its mandate without delay.
He expressed Serbia’s full commitment to the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina under the auspices of the EU, and implementation of all the agreements based on the Brussels Treaty from 2013.
“We are ready to continue the dialogues and it’s our priority”.
As he announced, in next few months, he will have consultations with colleagues from the member countries on all relevant issues for the forthcoming presidency. He said he will be paying special attention to the West Balkan, and reconciliation as a part of the post-conflict rehabilitation.
“I would like to mention specially that the International Commission for Missing Persons, with the support of the Swiss chair, invited representatives of BiH, Serbia, Croatia and Montenegro to sign Declaration on missing persons, end of August, in Mostar. We support this initiative and we believe that signing of the Declaration would represent an important contribution to efforts aimed at reconciliation”, said Dacic.
