“It is necessary for Serbs to participate in the work of Kosovo institutions in order not to bring Serbian community into full isolation,” said the MP from the ranks of the Serbian List in the Kosovo Assembly Slavko Simic.

Simic went on to say that before the Kosovo elections were slated Serbian community has decided to participate in elections in order that Serbs are not brought into ‘complete isolation’ and in order that problems they are facing don’t become even bigger.

“That’s why we participated in elections on 8 June. That’s why we are here today to participate in the work of the Kosovo Assembly and to jointly make a landmark in politics of Serbs in Kosovo,” said Simic.

He added that considerable unity is present amongst the Serb MPs and voiced hope that it will be the case and with others after they end up in certain offices after the creation of the government.

“From that reason it is necessary that through joint work, united efforts and representation we create a legal and political basis on which we could rely in future in order to have better and more perspective life for Serbs in Kosovo,” said Simic and stressed that Serb MPs in the Kosovo Assembly will show in following months their quality through “knowledge, dedication and sacrifice”.
