The world-renowned war crimes lawyers, Michael O’Reilly, told Radio Dukagjini that the report of the EU Special Investigative Task Force (SITF) lead prosecutor, Clint Williamson, is not expected to confirm organ trafficking allegations contained in the Council of Europe (CoE) report.
He said that since Williamson’s team failed to find evidence of organ trafficking, the indictment will be changed to only include war crimes. He warned however that an indictment of such nature would damage Kosovo’s international image.
“I am not surprised at the findings that there was no organ trade because it was said there was no such trafficking many times and the claims were absurd and not based. What is expected though is issuing of indictments against individual actions of people during the war”, said O’Reilly who coordinated Ramush Haradinaj’s legal team during the ICTY trial in The Hague.
“It is difficult to know what has been precisely written in the report as we have not seen its content yet. I understand this document will conclude there was no organ trafficking but any report of such nature will do great harm to Kosovo. We have to wait and see what will happen but these developments are not welcomed”, said O’Reilly.
