Director of the Serbian Government’s Office for Kosovo and Metohija Marko Djuric said that the fact that leader of the CI SDP Oliver Ivanovic is in detention for more than six months without an indictment and without any valid legal proceeding is international legal and political scandal.
“It is very important to get out from that situation as soon as possible, because such attitude, not only toward Ivanovic, but toward several persons who are in the same situation, fundamentally undermine the authority and capacity of Eulex to reach goals set by its mandate in northern Kosovo and Meothija,” said Djuric to daily Politika.
Djuric expects that Ivanovic will be released soon and that proceedings against him and persons in similar position will enter into legal frameworks set by the European and international standards.
