Albulena Haxhiu, deputy of Vetevendosje Movement, said for Kohavision TV show Interaktiv, that requests of the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK), should not be addressed by the Constitutional Court. “PDK has requested from the Constitutional Court to interpret the decision of the Assembly, however the Court does not have the Constitutional mandate for this. PDK also requested from this Court to decide which parliamentary group represents majority, while the President of this Court, Enver Hasani had stated for KTV that the Court does not deal with this issue. PDK requested from the court to state that the Constitution was violated during the Assembly constitutive session. This is also an issue that should not be considered by the Constitutional Court,” she said. According to Haxhiu, the only right of the PDK to address the Constitutional Court, is election of the Assembly Speaker, “so, this is the only matter where PDK should expect a response from the Constitutional Court.”

Haxhiu said that the Constitutional Court cannot delay its verdict later than 31 August, since the contracts of three judges expire on that date. “Their contracts can be extended only by the Assembly of Kosovo.”

She said that even if Kosovo goes for new elections, Vetevendosje would compete on its own, without pre-election coalitions.

“We have never heard any of the embassies saying that Vetevendosje should not lead the negotiations,” she said. Speaking about the election of the Prime Minister, Haxhiu said that Vetevendosje would not vote without a prior written agreement. “We will not vote for Ramush Haradinaj as Prime Minister without a prior written agreement with the coalition block of the three parties,” she said. “We will vote the future government only if our conditions are fulfilled,” said Haxhiu.
