Group of ten journalists was stopped and kept for an hour at Jarinje crossing by Serbian police, which didn’t allow their van to enter Serbia proper from Kosovo. They managed to pass through only after the intervention of the Serbian Minister of Internal Affairs.

“Thanks to the intervention of the Serbian Minister of Internal Affairs Nebojsa Stefanovic, police has let us through Jarinje. However they issued a ticket to a driver of the van, for no reason,” Petar Jermic, chairperson of the Association of Journalists of Serbia, said to Kurir. The Association has organized a visit to Orahovac/Rahovec from Belgrade, on the occasion of 16 anniversary of missing journalists Djuro Slavuj and Ranko Perenic.

Jeremic explained that driver from Gračanica/Graçanicë with registration plates from Prokuplje (Serbia proper) was issued a ticket by police with explanation that he is not allowed to pass through with such number plates. He described it as a complete nonsense since the person entered Kosovo and Metohija with the same number plates. “I hope that injustice will be corrected,” said Jeremic.
