(TV21)

Former Assembly Speaker Jakup Krasniqi considers that Vetëvendosje Movement should be part of the government that LDK-AAK-Nisma bloc aims to form.

According to Krasniqi, Kurti’s Movement participation in governance not only creates stability, but it also adds legitimacy to this government.

Plemetin residents oppose municipality’s project for construction of new houses

(TV21)

Disagreements between Plemetin residents and Obiliq/Obiliq officials have deepened. While residents oppose reconstruction of forty new houses in vicinity to RAE community camp, the municipality insists on implementation of this project.

Plemetin residents threaten that they will abandon this village in case that municipality of Obiliq/Obilic will ultimately decide to construct the forty announced houses. Local residents say that they have enough reasons to oppose construction of new houses in this location.

“We are not against reconstruction, let them reconstruct these houses in their villages, but we will not accept them here by no means” said Nazife Haliti, an Albanian resident of Plemetin.

Another Albanian resident said that the Obiliq/Obilic mayor decided to construct this neighbourhood without prior approval of the village.

Ashkali and Serb community members also say that they do not want new residents. They threaten to put their houses on sale in case this happens.

Irrespective to this, Obiliq/Obilic mayor pledges that houses construction will be done soon. He said that the opposing citizens have been manipulated.

“I believe that the majority of Plemetin residents are in favour of this decision. Twenty-five Albanian families, living under social assistance, ten Serb community families and five Roma, Ashkali and Egyptian community families will benefit from this project,”  Obiliq/Obilic mayor Xhafer Gashi said.
