The Law on the Protection and Promotion of the Rights of Communities and Their Members in Kosovo has only 16 pages but 281 mistakes in its version in the Serbian language. Completely incomprehensible, Serbian alphabet has been reduced, thus instead of 30 letters, only 27 are used.
Translation of the law that was adopted on 13 March 2008, with the amendments adopted in 2011, is fully unsatisfactory, quite reckless and voluntarily. It is unbelievable that no one noticed, particularly none of the members of non-majority communities, that letters of the Serbian alphabet č, ć and đ are missing throughout the text, whereas unknown diacritic signs have been used instead. In more than 50 cases, words are completely or partially incorrectly translated from the original into Serbian language, whereas some parts in the Albanian language are dropped in the version in Serbian language, whilst some parts of the sentences which don’t exist in the original version, have been added in version in the Serbian language.
