Director of the Office for Kosmet Marko Djuric has stressed in the talks with he delegation of the Council of Europe that the participation of the Serb representatives in the Kosovo Government will be a big step toward the normalization of the relation in the Province and in strengthening the Serbian community. He added that from that standpoint the formation of the Union of Serb municipalities was very important.
Djuric has also noted that the Kosovo Privatization Agency is threatening the ownership rights and interests of the Serbs through the illegitimate privatization of the Serb economic entities. Special problem in view of the rule of law are the increasingly frequent activities of EULEX, which are making additional pressure on the Serb population, Djuric stated.
An official of the Council of Europe Danil Hoshabo has reiterated the status neutral position of that body toward the Kosovo issue. Although not directly involved with the dialog, the Council of Europe is assisting through the programs of cooperation in judiciary and battle against corruption, Hoshabo underlined.
