A member of the Serbian parliament and member of the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) from Kosovo, Vladeta Kostic said to Radio Gracanica that the Serbian List is a crucial and stabilizing factor in Kosovo and Metohija, and in the future provincial assembly too.

The Serbian List requested postponement of the constitutive session of the Kosovo parliament for Thursday. “I hope that everything will be resolved on Thursday since the mathematic is simple. In any European civilized society, the ones that have majority of MPs should get the executive,” Kostic said.

He added that all nine Serbian MPs who are members of the Serbian List have unified policy and stance in defending interests of Serbs.

Kostic reflected on articles that appeared in Kosovo media and denied that Serbian List has extended support to Hashim Thaci or to the coalition block, since new moments have emerged with regards to inclusion of Self-Determination in dialogue with Belgrade and its stance over it, what led them to request the postponement of the constitute session of the Kosovo parliament.

At the same time consultations over the future steps have been announced for today with the Serbian government.

Commenting on illegal privatization of Serbian companies in Kosovo and Metohija Kostic said that privatization in Kosovo and Metohija is ongoing for many years and that no one is satisfied with it. “This issue has to be addressed in Brussels and it will be one of the topics of the community of Serbian municipalities,” Kostic said.

On question what will happen to employees in Serbian institutions once the community of Serbian municipalities is established Kostic said that it is expected that pending statute of the community of Serbian Municipalities would provide creation of local companies which currently operate in Serbian settlements and are financed from the budget of the Republic of Serbia. The essence is to retain all salaries which are currently paid from the Serbian budget.
