If the political crisis in Kosovo continues, the new elections are the only way. While the post-election coalition bloc in Pristina holds regular meetings, representatives of the Serbs say they are ready for possible new elections. Will there be a new coalition, or in the Serbian political arena nothing will change, we asked the leaders of the parties.

It is essential that the political crisis ends, but if that does not happen elections are imminent, says the Independent Liberal Party. When it comes to the coalition, there should not be a big surprise, said its president and Deputy Prime Minister Slobodan Petrovic.

“I am especially pleased that we, together with people from the CI Srpska, were pillars and initiators of the Serbian List. I think it would be more than illusory to speak whether, if there would be elections, we will go together or not. It is very important that we got the support of the Government of the Republic of Serbia, and this is a good opportunity to express gratitude to the Prime Minister and the Government of Serbia who have opted for bolder policy. ”

Progressive Democratic Party in the last election came out alone; its president says that new elections would definitely suit this political option. He says that the party is ready to talk with everyone.

“Anyone offering cooperation will be considered. We had a meeting two weeks ago, it is a positive initiative by Mr Jablanovic which I support to form a common position on important issues, and then I said that either way, if we find a point of contact on the basis of which we can cooperate, I am absolutely ready to cooperate,” said Nenad Rasic, President of the Progressivity Democratic Party.

Citizens’ Initiative Srpska, if it comes to new elections, again will call for unity of all relevant political representatives of Serbs in Kosovo’s politics.

“Whether this list will be unified and to what extent, will depend not only from us but also from other political factors. You may have someone who has regretted being on the Serbian list, and there may be someone who has realized the mistake because it was not in a joint Serbian list. In any case, as a pivot assembly of all Serbian political parties we will invite all for talks and I sincerely hope we will come to the unity,” said Vladeta Kostic, president of the CI Srpska.
