Waiting for the internationals (Kosova Sot)

The front page editorial of this daily notes that the political and institutional crisis in Kosovo is deepening each day. The pre-election coalition continues to insist on implementation of the decision of the Constitutional Court, but it does not manage to collect the required votes to constitute the Assembly. The Assembly sessions will be held in vain if a political agreement is not reached in advance. Neither the Constitution nor the Court mention concrete deadlines for overcoming this absurd situation. The constitutional limits for establishment of the institutions are well-known however the gap at the Assembly leaves space to the parties to manipulate as they please. If they do not become more responsible, we will have the same situation by the New Year. Kosovo has significant problems even when the institutions function normally; therefore these months will cause serious consequences.

Some EU officials are conveying messages of distancing from this stalemate, leaving Kosovars to find a solution, however, parliamentary opponents do not communicate and do not intend to call each other for a dialogue. The international interference in this case is becoming a necessity, not in order to help the parties which are ready to harm the state only to gain the power, but in order to prevent the institutional agony. Citizens of Kosovo do not deserve the irresponsibility of the politicians. A solution is required to be found as soon as possible, be that through the Embassies of the friendly countries. One cannot see another solution right now.
