Halil Matoshi, columnist of this daily, considers that the President of Kosovo, should “inaugurate a round table” where political leaders could reflect and reach a solution to the institutional crisis. “However, she has first to “take over the power” from the current Speaker of the Parliament, Flora Brovina, who is exercising PDK’s permanent coup d’é·tat over the Parliament in an illegal manner.” According to Matoshi, it is obvious that the President does not have the political will or authority to do so.
“The opposition block has entered a political battle without an exit strategy or constitutional and legal mechanism to nominate Assembly Speaker. By rejecting to vote the PDK candidate (even though the Constitutional Court gave the exclusive right to this party) the coalition block is leading Kosovo towards extraordinary elections or towards something even worse: “With the request of the international friends and for the interest of Kosovo,” they will agree to co-govern with PDK. This would have been treason of all those citizens who want good governance,” writes Matoshi.
The President is “ruling” with an unbearable easiness and with stale announcements of Arber Vllahiu, a former journalist who during the entire journalistic experience edited and conveyed only local and international press releases. He is not known for anything serious. Due to his flattering with PDK and Hashim Thaci, Vllahiu ended up at the Office of the President, an office which does not deserve funds of the citizens to remain open. So, you see that the country can make it even without the Presidency?” asks Matoshi at the end of his editorial.
