Chairman of the Committee for Kosovo and Metohija in the Serbian Assembly, Milovan Drecun says that strong base of the radical Islam is present in Kosovo. At the moment there is no information indicating the preparation of the terrorist attacks against Serbian citizens.
Milovan Drecun, in the RTS morning program, said he expects that the situation with regard to radical Islamists in Kosovo will be under control.
He said also that it is not excluded that individual returnees, a so-called lonely wolves can do it, and the conclusion of yesterday’s meeting of the Parliamentary Committee for Kosovo and Metohija was not that “there is no danger.”
Chairman of the Committee for Kosovo and Metohija, said that with the return of a number of jihadist threat will be intensified in Kosovo, but also in the region. He added that domestic competent authorities intensively monitor the development of radical Islam in the region and cooperate with foreign agencies.
Also, he expects that with the amendments to the Criminal Code, to be considered by the Parliament, a legal framework will be formed for the intense involvement of Serbia in the common fight against international terrorism.
