Relations between the United States and Kosovo are at a critical point. U.S. diplomat Tina Kaidanow has cancelled her visit to Kosovo, while U.S. Senator Chris Murphy has announced a shortened agenda during his stay in Pristina. Diplomatic sources told Express that Kaidanow, Ambassador-at-Large and Coordinator for Counterterrorism at the State Department, cancelled her visit because of the political deadlock and problems in the judiciary, especially after the recent release of terrorism suspects from detention. US Ambassador to Kosovo, Tracey Ann Jacobson, confirmed the cancelling of the visit. “One senior US visit to Kosovo cancelled this week, another one shortened due to ongoing political stalemate. Disappointed,” Jacobson wrote on Twitter.
