Schlumberger: Illegal occupation of private property impedes return process (RTK2, Friday 24, October)

Head of the OSCE Mission in Kosovo, Ambassador Jean-Claude Schlumberger, said that illegal occupation of private property impedes the IDPs return process.

“Properties of many people who were displaced following the conflict in Kosovo were illegally occupied and then vacated in line with Kosovo Property Agency’s eviction orders,” Schlumberger stated.

However, he underlined that in some 400 cases administered by KPA and many others filed by private persons, apartments, houses and land belonging to displaced persons were again illegally re-occupied.

“This both impedes the return process and violates their basic human rights,” Head of the OSCE Mission emphasized.

Mustafa: Internationals do not treat all parties equally (TV21)

Commenting the blockade for establishment of Kosovo institutions, the LDK leader Isa Mustafa said that internationals are getting involved in the political process, but they are not treating equally all the parties involved in the current political crisis.

In an interview with Zëri daily, Mustafa said that he is in frequent contact with diplomats; however, looking from the practical aspect, no foreigner is offering a model or concrete solution for the blockade.

He said that internationals give statements every day, and they are choosing which Assembly session to take part, and which not. According to Mustafa, this shows that they are not indifferent, and that they do not have the same treatment for all the parties.

Vetëvendosje opposes meeting with PDK (Most monitored broadcasters, TV21)

Internationals consider organization of an inclusive political roundtable as one of the options for the way out of the political crisis, while Vetëvendosje considers it unacceptable.

Vetëvendosje spokesperson Erzen Vraniqi said that Vetëvendosje will not respond to an eventual invitation made by the President Jahjaga to a joint meeting of all Kosovo political leaders, including PDK. According to him, Vetëvendosje does not consider PDK as a solution to the problem, but the problem itself.

Vraniqi said that political leaders do not have to meet with PDK at the same roundtable, as the Bloc has the political majority required to form new institutions.

Molotov cocktail thrown at a Fushë Kosovë/Kosovo Polje café (RTK2)

Unidentified persons threw Molotov cocktail at the ground floor of a building inhabited by Serbs. The Molotov cocktail was thrown at the “Sports Club” café where residents of all communities living in this building gather.

Rajko Trandafilovski, a Serb eyewitness, told RTK2 that: “Three unidentified persons, of Albanian nationality, of course we consider them to be of Albanian nationality, set light to two Molotov cocktails and threw them at ‘Sports Club’ café.”

This is the second incident marked in the last five days. Earlier, the same café was stoned; however, same as in this case, no one was hurt in the first incident, either.

Prior to this incident, graffiti with offensive content were sprayed out in this building.

RTK2 could not get a statement from the police regarding this incident. They only said that they were working to shed light in this case.

Meanwhile, RTK2 also reported about another incident on Saturday in Mitrovica/Mitrovicë north. In John Kennedy’s street of Mitrovica/Mitrovicë north, unidentified persons shot with firearms at the vehicle type Mercedes, owned by the Srdjan Jovic, deputy dean of Mitrovica faculty of technical sciences.

Gjakovë/Djakovica IDPs call for US Ambassador’s help (RTK2, Klan Kosova)

Internally displaced Serbs from Gjakovë/Djakovica are seeking help. They wrote a letter to the US Ambassador in Kosovo Tracey Ann Jacobson, asking her to help them in exercising their right to free movement and their property protection.

They reminded the US diplomat the promise she made to them when she visited Gjakovë/Djakovica after the incident that happened on the occasion of Orthodox Christmas.

In their letter, they also request from her to receive their representatives. They will also write similar letter to ambassadors of other countries accredited in Prishtinë/Pristina.
