Kosovo’s conditional admission to the International Olympic Committee only intensified Pristina’s appetites, whose power, though in a semi-technical mandate, do not waste time and daily is lobbying to raise the ramp in a number of international organizations.

As for Novosti said Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic, Serbia will be against membership of Pristina in all organizations, in which it is possible, if it is not in accordance with the Brussels Treaty:

– Wherever Kosovo is marked with an asterisk, their presence is not disputed.

Many organizations in the recruitment of new members do not set as a condition membership in the United Nations. Thus, with a list of more than a hundred countries that have recognized the independence, Kosovo can count on the support of an impressive support, even where two-thirds majority is required.

During the last month, Kosovo presented a wish to its allies in the EU to become a member of Interpol, and since this summer it has become a member of the Venice Commission of the Council of Europe and submission of a candidacy for membership in the CoE was announced until December.

That has not happened until now, and in the opinion of Aleksandra Djurovic, head of our parliamentary delegation in this organization, they will not be able to do it any time soon:

– The announcements of Pristina officials are for internal political purposes. In the CoE there is no support for the admission of Kosovo, even among the delegates of countries that have recognized the unilaterally proclaimed independence. In addition, Kosovo does not meet many of the criteria: the rule of law, human rights…

According to the opinion of the Head of the Parliamentary Committee for Kosovo and Metohija, Milovan Drecun, Pristina will try to get into all the organizations in which the United States and leading EU countries, which recognize their secession, have great influence, and in the UN they will look to “push through” in every way. Drecun, who is also head of the delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Organization on agreement on collective security, says that it is illusory to Kosovo even attempt to enter the CSTO, because in it are the members that do not recognize Kosovo.

For admission to the Council of Europe needed are the votes of two-thirds of the members of the Committee of Ministers and then it should be confirmed by and Assembly of the CoE. As far as Interpol, three years ago, Kosovo was informed that that it can become its member, since it is not important whether the candidate is a member of the UN, but did not specify when this would happen.
