A decision has been brought yesterday at the extraordinary local assembly session of the Zubin Potok/Zubin Potok Municipality to form a company for distribution of energy in northern Kosovo.

The company is named Association for Energy Services “Elektrodistribucija Sever’ DOO Zubin Potok, and director will be a longtime employee of ‘Elektrokosmet’ company form Kosovska Mitrovica, Boban Novakovic.

Serbian Liaison Officer with Pristina Dejan Pavicevic was present during the first fifteen minutes of the session. He said at the session opening that company for distribution of energy is formed in line with the Brussels Agreement. Company ‘North’ will soon be registered with Kosovo institutions in line with the Kosovo laws, and citizens will start paying electricity bills as of January next year. Pavicevic also explained that, in line with the Brussels Agreement, one of the local self-governments in northern Kosovo is entitled to form a company for distribution of energy.

Newly appointed Director Boban Novakovic said that inhabitants in northern Kosovo will have three options: to sign an agreement with this company, to sign an agreement with KEDS or not to have electricity.
