The municipality of North Mitrovica has nothing to be proud of since it is working in impossible conditions, says Ksenija Bozovic. However, despite the problems Municipal Assembly of Mitrovica North meets its obligations, was said at the debate in the Media Centre in Čaglavica.
Chairperson of the Municipal Assembly of Mitrovica North, Ksenija Bozovic said that local authorities in Northern Mitrovica have nothing to be proud of. As she said, Municipality is working in impossible conditions due to the fact that they do not have their own building, and no official vehicle. Still, she adds, despite all the problems, the Assembly regularly held all scheduled sessions and salaries for committee members and all employees were paid. “We managed to pressure the local executive power to pay salaries to all councillors as well as those who work in committees. We have adopted statutes and budget, but citizens were not able to experience prosperity because the executive power failed. I, as a Chairperson, am grateful that we managed to finish the year in impossible conditions,” Bozovic said.
Representatives of the executive authority of the municipality of North Mitrovica, as well as councillors of CI Srpska did not attend the debate in Media Center, although they were invited. Councillor of the CI SDP, Igor Simic, said that someone should be held responsible for this situation in the newly established municipality. “We don’t have the bodies of executive power and in this regard we are facing huge problems. I am disappointed with the work of the Ministry of Local Self-Government, because they didn’t show any attempt to help us,” Simic said.
