The issue of recognition of Kosovo is not defined as a condition in the accession negotiations, says Minister without portfolio in charge for the Euro-integrations in the Serbian Government Jadranka Joksimovic.

“The issue of recognition of Kosovo and Metohija is not defined as a condition in the accession negotiations. Particularly if one has in mind that not all the EU states have recognized independence of Kosovo. Implementation of the Brussels Agreement could be labeled as a condition, which doesn’t mean recognition of Kosovo and Metohija, and Serbian side was always clear in that regard,”  Joksimovic said.

President of Serbia Tomislav Nikolic said on RTS, two days ago, that he heard from the European Commissioner for European Neighborhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations, Johannes Hahn, for the first time openly and clearly that Serbia won’t become a member of the EU unless it resolves the Kosovo issue.
