British Ambassador to Pristina, Ian Cliff, says the role of Serbs and other non-majority communities is of the key importance for Kosovo’s progress and that all who participate in the work of the parliament and government are de facto recognizing Kosovo’s independence.
“We, as the embassy, used to have good cooperation with the Ministry for Communities and Return. We’ll see, but I think that the role of Serbs and non-majority communities is crucial for Kosovo,” Cliff said.
When asked whether the Serbian List is setting to many conditions in order to become a part of the new authorities and whether there is any issue with regard to Aleksandar Jablanovic, being a member of the Kosovo government without recognizing Kosovo’s independence, Cliff replied that there are persons who are erasing Kosovo’s symbols using felt-tip pen but that it is also a fact that those people are coming and participating in the work of the parliament and government, and that they have de facto recognized Kosovo as an independent state.
